About me


The goal of this site is to share Sebastian's story in a unique format, which will contain a recollection of work experiences, skills, and background.

Sebastian is a Chilean-American citizen who grew up in beautiful Puerto Varas, Chile, and spent his teenage years in Boston, to then graduate from the University of Colorado at Boulder as an Economist.

 

He is passionate about democracy, sustainability, and technology, which has shaped his trajectory in the corporate world. He has led Voter Registrations at Headcount, started a second-hand Patagonia brick-and-mortar shop, broken record numbers of electric cars and solar sales at Tesla, and lastly, promoted efficient energy usage and ESG governance at Salesforce and Datadog.


Through these experiences, he has developed an excellent track record of exceeding quotas, fostering relationships with industry leaders, and modernizing systems to increase productivity and mitigate costs. Sebastian thrives in fast-paced environments, identifying obstacles that get in the way of our clients, and building bridges to get them where they want to be.

Mid-Market Account Executive

Responsibilities

  • Full sales cycle of Datadog observability products, targeting Engineering teams of net new-logo accounts, up to 5000 employees (mid-market).

  • This included strategic outreach, platform demonstrations, and Proof of Concepts while collaborating with Sales Engineers and Cloud (AWS, GCP and Azure) and local partners utilizing MEDDIC, Command of the Message, and value consulting principles to drive urgency and increase pipeline generation.

    Achievements

  • Promoted to Mid-Market Account Executive, exceeding quota for Q1 and Q2 FY2024, 104% and 126% respectively, Entered 74% of total accounts available, Q3 $48.7k MRR in the pipeline, 6 closed-won accounts.

Business Development Representative - Team Lead

Duties

  • Leading the Business Development team at Slack

  • GTM and Outbound strategy for enterprise and Mid-Market logos for 27 countries.

  • Partnering with SFDC and Slack VPs and Account Directors to qualify and advance opportunities.

  • FY23: Quota attainment 148% FY22 and FY23 271%.

  • Helping our Mid-Market segment grow by 680%.

  • Helped 6 account executives reach quotas; three of them received promotions, and the same was true for two of my managers. 

  • Sourcing over 50 opportunities, 80% new logos.

  • $2M of Annual Contract Value in the pipeline.

  • Sourcing 15 closed won deals with 892k of ACV.

  • Big wins: Bitso, Satellogic and Nowports.

Sales Asocciate

2020 - 2021

Boulder, Colorado

Energy products: Generation (Solar), Storage (Powerwall) and Transportation (EV's). 

Responsibilities:​​

  • Generated car sales, marketing campaigns, managed pipeline from beginning to end cycle, store logistics, scheduled drives, and coordinated local and remote deliveries.

  • Met delivery quotas and Metrics established at the beginning of the Quarter.

  • Facilitated B2B enterprise acquisitions, Solar and Powerwall sales.

Achievements: 

  • Ranked #1 Tesla Advisor II in net orders for Colorado and Utah region (Q3 2021)

  • Exceeded metrics and KPI by generating over 110 car sales, over $8M in revenue. Over $1M on fleet deals and Solar Sales. 

  • Directed a sales cycle of 3-4 months on average.

  • Sold the first Model S PLAID in the state of Colorado. 

Customer Experience Associate

Boulder, Colorado 

2019 - 2020

  • Helped start the first Worn-Wear store in the world on Pearl St, Boulder, CO. Specialized in extending clothes life cycles by repairing all Patagonia equipment. Acquired inventory through customer trade-in program, supplied the store with only second-hand Patagonia gear.

  • Handled foot traffic of 300-1k people a day, ran store operations; POS system, maintenance, warehouse supply, and visual merchandise display.

  • Worn-Wear is now integrated into multiple locations across North America.

NON PROFIT cAMPAIGN mANAGER

NYC, NY 

Jan 2018 - Present

  • Founded by Grateful Dead’s legend Bob Weir, Headcount is a non-profit organization that uses the power of music to promote participation in democracy. 

  • Over 600,000 people have registered to vote through HeadCount at live events

  • Volunteered at Festivals, managed voting stations and merch stores, outreached people and encouraged them to be part of our democratic process.
